NOVEMBER 27^th, 2010 - LUCAS OIL "CALIFORNIA CLASSIC"

ANNOUNCEMENT DETAILS:

At Saturday's SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series Driver's Meeting it was announced that Toyota Speedway at Irwindale will host a Lucas Oil sponsored nationally televised event on Thanksgiving weekend, featuring the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series and other divisions.

Many of the details for the event are being finalized as of today, and many announcements will be made regarding the event over the next several weeks. The foundation for the event is to build an annual stock car event, similar to the famed 'October Classic' once held annually at Mesa Marin Raceway, to become a tradition for many years to come.

The 2010 edition of the 'California Classic' will be a non-points event for the SRL, as the 2010 SRL championship points' finale will be at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 30^th. This years November 27^th event will lay the foundation for the SRL to close its championship season each November starting in 2011 at Toyota Speedway with national television coverage.

NOTES:

• Toyota Speedway at Irwindale will host its annual Turkey Night on Thanksgiving evening featuring USAC Midgets.
• On Friday, November 26^th, Toyota Speedway will be open for practice, for the race divisions scheduled to compete on Saturday night, November 27^th.
• The SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series will headline the event, and will compete under the same sanction and policies as all SRL events.
• Also competing will be NASCAR Super Late Models and Late Models, competing in their own main events.
• The 2010 SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series Championship Awards Banquet will now be re-scheduled to the later part of January.
